SOVEREIGN Speed the independent ‘B2B’ transport and handling specialist for courier, transport and logistics companies has returned to Krone for a new Profi Liner curtainsider which, says the company, represents the ultimate in flexible and secure loading.

Formed in 1998 and based in Hamburg Germany, Sovereign Speed is renowned as a ‘high-speed’ freight mover and operates from 7 countries over 100 overnight connections throughout Europe, using a diverse range of express handling services for general and time-sensitive freight.

“We provide a reliable and high-speed transport service,” says Transport Manager Naomi Howes, “which is widely regarded as an ideal alternative to European air freight. So, for fast, flexible and secure load handling the Krone Profi Liner was a fairly straightforward choice.”

Manufactured to European code XL standard in Werlte North-West Germany and riding on Krone axles, the Profi Liner features the standard Krone Multi-Lock securing system, with 2-ton strapping points every 10cm along each side rave.

“Our trailers need to carry a wide range of cargo” adds Naomi, “and the Krone Profi Liner caters for virtually all loading and securing needs. With reinforced curtains, multiple lashing options, a lifting/sliding roof and tuck-away tail-lift, it really is the ultimate in flexible and secure loading.”

For coping with outsized and awkward cargo, the trailer roof can be hydraulically raised by up to 500mm and then lowered over the loaded cargo to achieve an internal clearance of 2,800mm.

Sovereign Group operates 355 vehicle units, employs over 700 people and uses approximately 35,000sqm of handling and storage space. The company also provides air cargo handling, airport terminal logistics with mobile acceptance X-Ray checks and customs clearance.
