Spot-on delivery to the construction site: information about the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) increases planning reliability for Sika customers.

Construction sites have tight schedules, usually the pressure to meet deadlines is high. Quick and reliable information about the delivery status of materials ordered is essential for project planning to be successful. Using the digital platform of Gebrüder Weiss, Sika Austria, a leading manufacturer of chemical building materials, is now able to offer this service to its customers without restrictions. “This not only saves time, but also enhances the quality of communication overall. We are now able to provide direct, reliable information to our customers, enabling them, in turn, to respond quickly and appropriately if, for instance, delivery dates are delayed, and accordingly to benefit from greater planning reliability on their construction sites,” says Robert Bernhard, Area Manager Supply Chain & Logistics at Sika Österreich GmbH. All process-relevant information is available online in real time. Order and shipment status can be retrieved by a mouse click, just like the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA). By means of a link, the shipment status can be shared directly with the Sika customer at the construction site.

Improved communication and high planning reliability.
Another benefit for Sika: the entire communication thread relating to a certain transport is completely visualized conveniently on the digital Gebrüder Weiss platform. All parties involved in the process will have the same information at all times – no more duplication of requests or lengthy inquiries. The launch of the ETA function is part of the digitization strategy of Gebrüder Weiss. In the coming months, the company is going to roll out more digital services. The myGW customer portal that provides the framework for the individual features will be launched officially in the course of the year.
