MTC Showcases Latest Developments In Metrology.

4 November, 19

Metrology and inspection experts from the Coventry-based Manufacturing Technology Centre are hosting a free event aimed at helping manufacturers improve their processes and product quality through the latest metrology technology.

The Focus on Metrology event at the MTC on Wednesday, November 27 will highlight the cutting edge research and innovation in metrology developed by the MTC, its academic partners and leading industrialists. It will focus on the important collaborations driving metrology forward, and measurement and inspection technologies which can benefit of UK manufacturers.

Speakers from a range of sectors will provide an industry perspective on how metrology and inspection techniques are helping to improve competitiveness, processes and component quality.

MTC technology director Ken Young said the event would give delegates the opportunity to see the latest metrology equipment in action at the MTC.

“There will be live demonstrations as well as breakout sessions to hear more from world-leading metrology specialists and equipment providers. Inspection techniques are vital to high value manufacturing and, when implemented properly, can mean that products are safer, stronger and perform better than the competition,”

he said.

The event, at the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre, is free to attend but places are limited so registration is vital. Those interested should visit www.the-mtc.org/event-items/focus-on-metrology-2019-the-scale-of-possibilities-for-uk-manufacturers

The MTC was founded by the University of Birmingham, Loughborough University, the University of Nottingham and TWI Ltd. The MTC’s industrial members include some of the UK’s major global manufacturers.

The MTC aims to provide a competitive environment to bridge the gap between university-based research and the development of innovative manufacturing solutions, in line with the Government’s manufacturing strategy. The MTC is part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, supported by Innovate UK.
